Metro Retail Chain

Retail chain, 8 stores

The Challenge

Metro Retail operated 8 store locations. The head office struggled to track daily sales, top-selling SKUs, and staff productivity because each store had a disconnected POS database. Managing inventory levels meant waiting for weekly reports, which led to both overstocking and out-of-stock items, hurting total sales revenue.

Our Custom Solution

We built a real-time corporate business dashboard that aggregates and processes transactions from all 8 POS databases. Using Python backend services and lightweight client-side synchronization tools, the dashboard aggregates sales, inventory levels, and employee hours into a centralized time-series database. We set up automated email and SMS alerts for low-stock items.

The Outcome & Impact

The executive team gained real-time, store-by-store sales and inventory visibility. Automated low-stock alerts reduced inventory shortages by 80%, optimizing replenishment schedules. Combined with data-driven staff rostering, total store sales revenue increased by 18% over the first six months of deployment.
